Institute of Genomics and RNomics
Head: Alexander Hüttenhofer

The Institute of Genomics and RNomics is responsible for training students of the Medical University of Innsbruck and the Leopold Franzens University of Innsbruck  in Molecular Biology.

The research of the institute is devoted to functional investigations of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) in particular in the field of Functional Genomics and RNA biology. Thereby, the research of the division is focused on the regulation of gene expression by non-coding RNAs as well as  and structural and functional aspects of ribosomal RNA in protein synthesis; two research teams are holding internationally recognized positions within this research field.
